Biblical Narrative: Genesis 2

(The Creation of Man and the Garden of Eden)

[I-K] Knowledge Poisoning:

- Knowledge that was accessible: Man (Adam) was given the freedom to enjoy all of creation, except the knowledge of "good and evil" (Genesis 2:16-17). This was an access restriction set by God to prevent a spiritual "buffer overflow."

- How the poisoning occurs: The prohibition against eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a test of consciousness—whether man would obey God's "source code" or attempt to "debug" on his own (later in Genesis 3).

[I-P] Programming Solution:

- 'Sandbox environment' = The Garden of Eden functions as a protected environment where humans can operate safely (Genesis 2:8-15).

- 'Access control' = The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is a moral "firewall"—God sets permissions and restrictions as system boundaries.

- 'Dependency injection' = Humans were not created self-sufficient; they require a "helper" (Eve) and a relationship with God to function optimally (Genesis 2:18-22).

[T] Traditional Theology:

- Humans were created in the image of God (Imago Dei) and given the responsibility to care for creation (Genesis 2:15).

- The prohibition against eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a test of obedience, where disobedience would bring consequences (Genesis 2:17).

- The marriage between Adam and Eve is seen as a divine institution (Genesis 2:24).

[S] Synthesis:

- [I-P] 'Sandbox' and 'access control' explain why [T] emphasizes Eden as a place that was "very good" (Genesis 1:31)—a perfectly designed system that nonetheless depended on user (human) compliance.

- [I-K] The potential for poisoning is evident in God's design of granting limited freedom—much like a programmer restricting user access to prevent a crash.

- [T] Imago Dei parallels the [I-P] concept of 'admin privilege'—humans were given limited authority as "sub-admins" under God.

Note: Genesis 2 is the "user manual" before humanity entered "runtime" (Genesis 3). Failure to comply with the "license agreement" (God's prohibition) would lead to "system corruption" (sin).
